Terracotta Shares Insight on Aspect Oriented Programming at AOSD Conference in Vancouver
March 7, 2007
SAN FRANCISCO — March 7, 2007 — Terracotta, Inc., a leader in advanced enterprise Java scalability solutions, today announced that Jonas Bonér and Eugene Kuleshov, two of the company's senior engineers, will host sessions at the AOSD Conference in Vancouver, Canada during March 14-16, 2007. The AOSD Conference is the premier international event for developers and researchers, and focuses on software modularity with an emphasis on novel notions of modularity that crosscut traditional abstraction boundaries. Terracotta's Jonas Boner and Eugene Kuleshov have also released two new white papers on AOP (Aspect Oriented Programming) and ASM in conjunction with the event. The white papers can be downloaded at: http://www.aosd.net/2007/program/industry.
The first session led by Jonas Bonér will focus on AOP and how clustering (and caching) is a crosscutting infrastructure service that has historically been implemented with API-based solutions. As a result, it has suffered from the same code scattering and tangling problems as other crosscutting concerns. Terracotta will present how AOP technology can be used to implement the cross-cutting concern of transparent clustering for any arbitrary Java code.
The second session led by Eugene Kuleshov will demonstrate how a number of Java bytecode transformations can be easily assembled together to implement AOP solutions. Through case examples using the ASM framework, Terracotta will show the power and simplicity of the ASM framework that allows developers to focus on code transformations instead of spending time on low level bytecode manipulations.
What: Two sessions at AOSD led by Terracotta:
"Clustering the Java Virtual Machine using Aspect Oriented Programming"
"Using ASM framework to implement common bytecode transformation patterns"
